MMCForums Theme Contest: November / December

Winter is well and truly here. We've even had snow in parts of England, though not where I live... yet. I know it may seem a little premature to start a Christmas theme competition now but if we were to start on the 1st December, some entries wouldn't arrive until it was too late for members to take advantage of their wonderful work. So I figured we'd spread this competition over 2 months.

Now I'm aware not all of our member celebrate Christmas so I'm opening this topic up a little to include festive Holidays that occur around the world at this time of year and for those who none of the above apply to, then you're more than welcome to enter with a winter based theme. I hope I've covered all angles and anybody can join in the fun.

As it's a festive competition and spans 2 months I'm raising the value of the prizes. Ho-ho-ho

Please read the rules entirely, as any submissions failing to follow these will not be considered for the contest.

Contest Focus: Christmas, Winter, Festive Holidays

Prizes:
Grand Prize - $300 USD (Paid via PayPal)
Runner Up - $100 USD Valued Prized (Paid via PayPal)
Timeline:
November 1st - December 24th - Contest open for submissions! To submit a contest theme, follow the normal upload process, and add ( c ) to the beginning of the theme title to indicate you would like the theme entered in the competition and post the link to the theme in this thread once submitted.
December 24th - Jan 31st - Voting begins. Each registered user can vote once on the poll, selecting the theme in which the liked most. The poll will contain the top 5 contest themes selected by the MMCForums staff.

Rules:

The themes submitted to the contest must be the original work of the uploader, and may not be found on any other theme site.
The top 5 themes will be selected by the staff here at MMCForums, and a poll will be generated letting the users vote on their favorite submissions.
To submit a contest theme, follow the normal upload process, and ensure you upload it to the competition entry category to indicate you would like the theme entered in the competition and post the link to the theme in this thread once submitted.

EDIT: YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO ADD ( C ) IN FRONT OF YOUR THEME, NOW THAT WE HAVE THE COMPETITION ENTRY CATEGORY.

this time will do theme for all screen sizes, I mean SVG theme. I have designed the wallpaper by the way.

Just wondering Paul,have you thought about whether or not the mod team can enter or not?
Honestly I think it should be closed for us,we dont want anyone to cry "rigged" should one of the team win a prize do we?

For resdient themer members yeah,but for mods and gallery mods should be closed in my opinion only cause like I and you already mentioned,there's always people who wont think it fair should a team member win.

Well,I know the 'Halloween theme comp' was open to all members but as fas as I know at the moment the new comp for Christmas themes wont be.

Just need confirmation from Paul on this.Then we'll know for sure.

Me, I don't feel like theming today. I just feel like a big lurking lump. Meh...

But as to who the competitions are open to: I don't think it should be open to Admin, but I don't see why it should not be open to mods. Mods are, after all, themers. They just happen to have the time to give to the upkeep of the site. It would be a very messy place without them, and they aren't profiting from the site after all.

I will agree with whatever admin decides on this, just putting out there how I see it.
