How’s that gonna work differently from acp?
Will we have a mod control panel?
We need to be able to approve, edit, and if need be delete uploads.
We also need to mod forums.July 13, 2013 at 10:58 pm #911
We will set you guys up with moderator accounts that will have access to the wordpress admin area. From there you can approve, delete, edit, and just about anything else you’ll need to do from an admin perspective.July 14, 2013 at 2:03 am #914
Excellent. We won’t be able to get to theme settings and such, will we? Screwing up the WP theme scares the buhjeezus out of me.July 17, 2013 at 6:49 pm #1021

Hey guys, this is still on my list. I’m looking into how we can limit access to only what you need to be able to moderate. The limited access might come after launch though.July 19, 2013 at 3:30 am #1050
Cool, let us know what areas we need to avoid. Until you can limit it, we will need to be very careful in what we touch and don’t touch.July 20, 2013 at 11:55 am #1078
Hey Everyone! I was able to set up a Moderator role with limited permissions to the wordpress admin. I’ve set everyone up to be moderators, so you can now access the dashboard at http://www.tehkseven.net/wp-admin.
I removed as much of the Admin features from the Moderator role as I could without limiting your ability to get in there and do what you need to. It’ll probably be a bit confusing when you first get in there. You should be primarily concerned with the Themes, Ringtones, and Mobile Wallpaper links in the left hand sidebar. Also, the Users link will allow you to edit users (add, remove, demote, etc).
Get in there and have a look around, let me know here if you have any questions.
There are backups of the database, so don’t be too worried about breaking anything. Even if something happens, I can just load the backup.July 20, 2013 at 3:34 pm #1085

Everything seems to be there for editing uploads
One thing, we may need the ability to add(or edit) models to the database , this depends on how Paul wants to set it up of course, maybe he would just want you and him to add them.spaceJuly 20, 2013 at 5:36 pm #1101
Cool! Looks like we can learn that pretty easily. But, please do tell us which things we should NEVER touch! As well, you might select a couple of us who have the ability to allow people auto approval, and change settings for members, (make them a mod, change groups if we’re going to have those, etc).
I nominate Rob for those things.July 20, 2013 at 6:19 pm #1107
We need a way to moderate forums as well please! :kiss:July 20, 2013 at 10:30 pm #1114
Rob: Models have to be added to the system in a very specific way. Its not difficult, but it is confusing without the steps being explained. I think for now, we’re going to limit it to the two of us adding models until we can sit down and explain the process better.
Jeannie: The moderator access hides most of the admin stuff that you guys wouldn’t want to be able to see. As for what to stay away from, there isn’t really anything in there you can do that would take the site down. The areas that you probably won’t need to go to are: Posts (This will hold the blog posts once we get the blog going), Media (Add media through the upload forms), Links (these aren’t being used anywhere), and BadgeOS (I’m setting up an achievements system, but it isn’t ready yet).
As of now, you guys all have the permissions to change user settings for normal members, if its not something that everyone should have, we can change it though.
Everyone now has the ability to moderate the forums. I had forgotten about that.July 21, 2013 at 7:04 am #1126
Thanks!July 21, 2013 at 7:48 am #1141
Hey, just having a play at editing some of my wallpapers. Added tags, changed categories, etc. It was pretty easy to get the hang of. One thing I noticed, that is going to be a HUGE hit with the T7 crowd, is that we can move an upload from one member to another. So, if someone is falsely claiming someone else’s work, we can simply assign the upload to the proper owner. Fantastic!July 27, 2013 at 9:07 am #1606
