Leaked yesterday were some pictures of a SILVER HTC Desire smartphone. Being on AT&T and having a BlackBerry and an iPhone 2G, I personally am very interested in a new switch to an Android. With the crippled MOTOBACKFLIP as its entry into the Android market, who knows if AT&T will load the same unusable junk into this top-of-the-line HTC device. More info after the jump.
The Desire is quite possibly the best handset [to be] on the market in the U.S. of A. It is basically a Nexus One on steroids. The most obvious upgrade is the new optical mouse. Apparently, it is more useful and comfortable than the Nexus’s trackball. Plus it doesn’t get dirty just like the translucent trackballs on phones such as the N1, BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, Bold, etc. More specs here are:
1GHz Snapdragon processor, possibly underclocked to 768 MHz
720p Video Recording
5MP camera with autofocus, single-LED flash, and face-detection
Optical trackpad
3.7″ 480×800 AMOLED screen
>4GB on-board storage, expandable via 32GB MicroSD card
GSM bands for AT&T 3G (KILL ME IF I’M LYING TO MYSELF!!!)
Availability in May or June, hopefully bringing along the GSM version of the HTC Legend (Hero2)
Android OS 2.1 Eclair with HTC Sense UI
Multitouch capabilities out-of-the-box
COME ON CR*PPY AT&T, BRING THIS THING ON!!!
