iPhone 3Gs vs iPhone 3G: Gameplay Comparison

Think there is little difference between the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs? Guess again. Besides a processor upgrade, the iPhone 3Gs is capable of rendering graphics at a higher level – which is important for those hardcore “iPhone gamers”.

Above is a screenshot comparison between the iPhone 3G (left) and the iPhone 3Gs (right) running a game entitled “Iron Fist Boxing 3″. The 3G supports OpenGL ES 1.1, while the 3Gs bumps it up to 2.0. According to sources,

“The 3GS only handles this advanced content at 30fps. The graphic improvements can be turned off so the handheld can reach 60fps.”

Realtech, developer of “Iron Fist Boxing 3″, have included support for both devices in a single packaged release.

Another Unboxing of the AT&T Tilt 2

By Jon | Saturday, October 17th, 2009 | Comments

Here is another unboxing video shot and uploaded by Jon Rettinger of Techno Buffalo. The Tilt 2 (HTC Touch Pro 2) of course is AT&T’s successor to the original Tilt (HTC TyTN II) – which doesn’t really make sense in a way because the it should really be the successor of the AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro). Something that has been omitted from the Fuze would be the magnetic stylus, which had to be one of the coolest features of the Touch Pro.

In the video Jon compares the dimensions to aesthetically similar iPhone, due to the black hardware and chrome lining, as well as the HTC G1. Something strange is that TouchFlo3D2 isn’t pre-installed on the device. Instead, the software is installed on the first boot-up.

According to Jon, this device will hit AT&T shelves on October 17, which is tomorrow! So for those who plan on picking up the Tilt 2 on the AT&T network, this is your lucky day – or rather, tomorrow will be.

iPhone EyeTV App Gets Shut Down by Apple

iPhone EyeTV App Gets Shut Down by Apple

EyeTV was one of the newest applications launched in Apple’s AppStore. It allowed users to stream media from their computers to their iPhones via WiFi and 3G. I remember reading about this application earlier today on Gizmodo. In less than a day, Apple has pulled EyeTV from the AppStore.

Why Apple? Well, I think most people with enough sense will know of Apple’s controlling nature. So I must admit, I am not surprised that an application with these features got shot down.

It looks like if EyeTV were to continue, it would have to be something made available through Cydia.

According to one of the comments made about 20 minutes ago on Gizmodo, the direct link from Elgato still works.

Click here to possibly check out EyeTV in the AppStore.

Samsung Screen Vs. Hammer

By Jon | Saturday, October 17th, 2009 | Comments

Samsung Wins! This video demonstration is nothing short of amazing. It shows the 2.8-inch active matrix OLED Samsung screen being beaten by a series of hammer blows. The screen only weighs 0.01 ounces and 20 micrometers thick. The most extraordinary thing is that the screen is still playing the video while it is being abused – The other screens didn’t stand a chance!

To be fair, the screen couldn’t take on the hammer. So lets call this one a tie.

AT&T Tilt 2 Unboxing Video

By Jon | Friday, October 16th, 2009 | Comments

The guys over at PocketNow have gotten their hands on a brand new AT&T Tilt 2 (aka. The HTC Touch Pro 2), and have kindly made and uploaded an unboxing video. Right off the bat, the Tilt 2 looks much nicer than the CDMA Sprint variant, and is much closer aesthetic wise to the unbranded unlocked original. The qwerty keys have a nice blue accent and the battery cover has a simple mesh-looking ringer, rather than a weird abstract “Millenium Falcon” looking design.
