Sony Ericsson Kurara – Symbian Loaded HD Shooter

Besides the Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson has started working on a new device, currently codenamed “Kurara”. Its quite a strange codename, as if you Google “kurara”, you will yield quite an unexpected result. Symbian fans rejoice, as the Kurara is suspected to be running the S60 firmware – most likely S60 5th edition, like the 12MP loaded big brother the Sony Ericsson Satio. The Kurara’s main feature would be the capability of recording HD quality videos. It’s 8.1 megapixel camera is capable of capturing videos with a 720p resolution., which can be viewed directly on the phone from it’s 3.5 inch AMOLED display.

All of these specs have not yet been confirmed. But it is quite interesting that Sony has unintentionally (or perhaps intentionally) created a Samsung i8910 HD (previously entitled the Omnia HD) clone – at least, that’s what I think when I hear a device is loaded with an AMOLED display, a 8MP camera, and HD video recording. Of course, this may not be a bad thing, as the world of S60 is always in need of high-spec devices. As a long-time S60 user, I say, bring on the “Kurara”!
