Palm Pre’s iPhone-Like Email Application
Palm is no stranger to touch screen user interfaces. The Pre however, is Palm’s first WebOS loaded smartphone compared to its previous usage of Windows Mobile. The Pre is currently only available with CDMA carriers in North America. In light of this, European customers will be able to play with this pebble shaped touch-slider on October 13, as a GSM variant comes to the O2 network. The Pre is arguably designed to be an iPhone competitor. Coincidentally, the Pre’s interface looks and functions almost exactly like the iPhone’s – minus the Palm task manager.
In this video, Youtuber ButterScotchCom provides in an depth walkthrough and tutorial about the Palm Pre’s emailing system. Being a previous iPhone owner, I can say the email user interface of Palm’s WebOS looks almost identical to that of the iPhone’s. This is no surprise as the iPhone has undeniably raised the standards for UI graphics and functionality for the mobile industry.
