Phoneage – Nokia Booklet 3G Impressions

By Jon | Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 | Comments

The wonderful people of WomWorld have sent us a Nokia Booklet 3G to review and to play with for 2 weeks. We decided to create an impressions video, but if you’ve seen our other videos, you would know that this ain’t gonna be your run of the mill tech-impressions video. We hit the streets of downtown Toronto, Canada to ask random people what they thought of the Booklet 3G. All of the participants got to play around with the Booklet, and were given the specifications and the predicted pricing.

The verdict? Most of these guys didn’t like the Booklet 3G. The “@” key placement was odd, the performance was rather slow, and it is quite expensive. The pros were the 8-10 hour battery life and the chicklet style keys. Although most of these guys, including myself, didn’t really like the Booklet, this little Nokia laptop appears to be a technological marvel compared to the Apple iPad – but let’s not go there.. yet.

Here are Nokia Booklet 3G Specifications

i usually like your little vodcasts, think there funny, light hearted but this one you just seamed to diss Nokia & a bit of Apple fanboyism, apart from the last 30seconds with "N900 FTW"!!
as you now know the keyboard is like that because its English layout.
i agree with you on the 3G bands

btw do you use your N900?or still just the iPhone? know any good themes for it?

Great Phonage, as usual, but think you're getting very Anti Nokia, maybe try again when North America version comes out, it may have @ where you want it, and maybe even a $ sign. (I'm an English Nokia User). Anyhoo keep up the good work, stay healthy and look forward to your blog

      Thanks :).
Needless to say, I personally have been let down by Nokia on.. numerous numerous occasions.. However, with stuff like this, I try to stay as unbiased as I can. Most of the input came from the participants. And my opinions for the Booklet and various other Nokia products are also common upon other Nokia bloggers - including some hardcore "I will only use Nokia products" ones :P.
    • OMG... This presetation and the booklet is wonderful. But these hands?! Why they used mens hands? thats realy awsome!
