I spent many hours looking for a good theme for my symbian phone but there was none I liked. Then, finally, I found your website. Very great themes, Symbian Planet is my favourite! I love the theme, and the Seven Icons are really fantastic!
  • maxell
    thanks a lot!!!
  • Bisher wirklich das beste freie Symbian-Theme, was mir untergekommen ist...
  • Piotrek
What the font is in Digital Clock ?
  • i am really a big fan of yours. Im using this theme for a month now on my 5800. so far it's great.
  • Dilruk
Wish there was a RED version :)
  • Hi this theme is simply awesome, it's my fovourite!
Got only one question: I've got N97 and big contact pictures (360x360) and when I make o receive calls, the picture is displayed but the bottom part is covered (till response) with a rectangle containing the name and number...
In Nokia (and some other) themes this rectangle is partially transparent, showing the photo below...
Is it possible to carry out this transparency?
    And what about EVO (Bold)?

Thank you for your great work!
  • Jon
Evo (Bold) has partial transparencies in the softkey buttons. I hope that helps. I personally do not own an N97, so I cannot confirm it for you :(.
  • syn_sorrow
thank you very much have just recently became a nokia member and have a E71X you are by far the best at themes I have spent countless hours combing through page after page of themes and you are the only one who I download in my phone. +1
  • Jon
Welcome to the Nokia community :).
I am glad you found my themes and my website.
Hope to see more of your comments in the future :D
  • Dear Tehkseven,

    Thanks for the great theme!
Anyway, when I switched to 'numerical keypad' for typing messages, tiny black colors are visible at each side of the keypad button, both left and right side.. Also, it appears to me that the top side of the keypad button are rounded corners, but not the bottom side.. This is what I found after installing your theme.. It's not a big deal, just my concern.. That's all =)
  • Jon
Thank you very much acapawn :D.
The black ticks are another graphic "issue" with S60. They use the same graphic element for their qwerty and their numeric (makes sense..). But.. they also created a restriction that the keys MUST be square.. or else, the black "ticks" happen.

Make the black background transparent right? Then all will be good. But Carbide says NO! If you do.. it will render white on the phone ;).

Okay... make the black background have the same colour as the themes background. Carbide says... NO! If you do, the qwerty keypad will have green "ticks" all over!

As you can see.. I am quite stuck :).
Thanks again for commenting though! I hope my response helped to explain why they are there, heh.
  • Thanks for the great explaination. Guess I have to start using the QWERTY keyboard. Keep up with the good work! =D
  • saranan
This is a very nice theme. I installed it in my e63, it's looks very great and fresh. The theme is perfect and complete in every respect. There's a little scope to adjust the music palyer background wallpaper with top and bottom bar, I think the backgroung image will go slight left side to match top and bottom bar seamlessly. Please dont mind anything about my comment, because your excellent artwork insist me to do that. I repeat again dont bother about my comment. Thanks.
  • Jon
Thank you very much! I explained to Mumby the same issue. It is simply how Nokia/S60 likes to render the Music Player. Very very strange.

Thanks again for commenting to me :)
  • Mumby
hi Tehk, I looked at the native Nokia themes that came preinstalled on the phone, and they don't have the issue of top/bottom bars being misaligned with the background in the music player. The graphic patterns are smooth throughtout. Maybe Nokia knows some "secret sauce" that we don't when it comes to theming. :-)
  • eyesee
The problem affects all apps that use the "mini" top bar. It seems to be using the background for landscape screen and applying it to the portrait screen. Just try to switch to landscape and you will find that it's ok. Try running the Download! app and you will see. However music player does something different. So maybe Nokia does know some "secret".
  • AirRaidSiren
    Great as always!
  • Jon
    Thanks!
  • Wizzle
This theme is the best. A job well done
  • Jon
    Thank you :)
  • Ken
Did you found out what's wrong tehk? Because your repackaged theme now installs fine. Bravo and thanks again. =D
  • Jon
Apparently, there was a vital file missing. I don't know. I just recreate and repackaged everything. It seems to work now.. that's all that matters :)
  • Mumby
Hi Tehk, I've been playing with your new theme all day today. It's so cool! I noticed a strange thing though: on the E71 in the music playing screen, the image on the top and bottom bars don't quite align with the image on the background. It looks like they're misaligned by a few pixels. Did you notice this? Thanks!
  • Jon
    Hey Mumby,
Yes this is an issue, but it is an S60/Nokia issue. For some reason.. Nokia likes to render the music screen like that. See for yourself! Apply any non-plain background theme, and watch it mysteriously render with a topbar :P.
    Strange isn't it?

Just one of the many graphic bugs of S60.
  • poplover
    Great theme,thanks!
But I found a bug in N78(fp2). On the desktop, when the highlight move to the "search" and "online sharing", the text color is white, can not see clearly.
Will you please fix this bug?thanks a lot!
  • Jon
All the highlighted text are set to dark dark blue. I have no idea why yours is showing up as white. Is it only for Search and Online Sharing? This issue is not present on my N95's homescreen - although, it is running FP1 instead of FP2.
  • poplover
yes, only for Search and Online Sharing. I think FP2 all have this bug.
  • Nice theme. Though I am disappointed that my N97 won't show the Symbianplanet logo as part of the analog clock as shown in the screen captures.
  • Jon
Thanks Lloyd. I guess Nokia decided that a fixed widget style clock design was better suited for the N97's interface. I mean, I could create a customized analogue clock for the N97. But believe it.. it'll look weird with the widget rectangle around it.
  • You have a point there.

The more I see this theme as I use the phone the more I like. Great work with the colors. I've been partial to blacks for so long and I love the blue. This is probably the first theme where I don't want to use an image as the wallpaper and I stick with the default.
  • tadek003
Great theme:) I like ovi icons so I'm using DI version and thank's for that very much!
But seven icon version dosen't work. I can't see it on the theme selection on my 5800 v20.0.012. However I checked it only for your information:)
Your themes are the best! So don't be upset with imitation of Your theme like shi by SXG. He created only a bad replic:)

  • Jon
I repackaged and reuploaded the theme for a 2nd (maybe 3rd) time. I am sure it'll work now.
    Thanks for the support :)
  • Heidern
    Hey Thek!
Thanks for another awesome theme! ^^
  • Jon
    No problem :)
  • charlyeir
Thanks for that valuable work is really nice to have these issues on my cell phone, go ahead, good luck!
  • levanid
    Your theme for s60 v5 doesn't contain
    themepackage.skn file
I think thats why it doesn't shows up in my nokia 5800 firmware 30.0.011
    you need to reupload it

    thanks
  • Jon
Thanks again for all your help levanid :). I really appreciate it!
  • levanid
    You're welcome
You are the one of the best theme makers for symian
    thank you
  • Skarbro
Tehk, I have to admit that I wasn't sure about the colour. But after installing this theme, I have to say, this turned out beautiful. Great job. Keeping it in my rotation. ;)
  • Jon
Thank you very much Skarbro :)
  • All good on my 5800 Tehk, installed both versions.

Not tried the other versions yet on any of my other handsets yet.

Keep up the great work and i look forward to Evo...........hope Synergy's not been forgotton about?????
  • Jon
    Try now G :).
And no, Synergy is not forgotten.. But I don't think it will be released for a long long time. (As in 2-4 months+ )
  • vyomashar
Fantastic theme mate. You ROCK. ur themes are really amazing. Thanks
  • Jon
    Thank you very much :).
    Take care Vyom.
  • abhimanyu
    hey tehk,
    Superb work u genius.
But i am not happy wit the theme, its confusing me if i should change the fissure on my e71.
    Wt do i do now!

    Carry on confusing ppl.
    Keep up ur hardwork.
    Thanks a lot.
  • Jon
Hahaha, I guess I will carry on confusing people :).
    Take care abhimanyu!
  • donski
As always, nice theme man! but I'm having a problem with the Seven Icon version of Symbian Planet for 5th Edition Devices. After installing it on my 5800, phone and memory card, I can't seem to find it in my themes selection. Default icon version works fine though. Just downloaded it roughly 10mins ago.
  • Jon
You'd be the 5th person to report this. I guess I'll recompile and re-upload it tomorrow. If it still doesn't work.. then I have absolutely NO idea what to do.
  • cdarcc
Great use of color gradient Tehk, salute to your creativity!

I've purchased your Premium Theme Shi and it's way way better than that 'pirated' Shi by SXG, anyone can easily point the difference in quality and clean aspect of s60 theming.

    Thanks as always :)
  • Jon
    Hey cdarcc,
    Thanks for the support :).
I never tried the pirated Shi theme. I'm glad to know that mine still looks better, heh.
  • Mumby
Thanks Tehk, it's beautiful! I love the colours! One question though: on the E71, is it your intention that the top edge of the highlight bar on the home screen appears as a dotted line rather than a smooth straight line? I think it would look nicer if it was a smooth straight line.
  • Flo
Yeah, those are the separator lines make it look like that. At first I didn't even notice that. But it's with every theme on a E71, take a good look. It's just that noticable here because of the big dark/light contrast.
  • Jon
    Thanks. Dotted line..?
The only thing I can think of that is dotted is the separator lines on the Standby screen. And you can't change that.
  • Personally, I think it's your best yet. Just tweeted a link to this. =) Great job, keep it up! And, thanks for making my phone look more beautiful! =)
  • Jon
Thanks Tao! I think this has been my best yet as well. I feel like I improve everytime I release a theme, heh.
  • poincare
    thank u t7
relax about all the copy shit
    u r the best
  • Jon
    Thanks Poincare :).
    Take care
  • Ken
Very, very nice theme tehk! Thank you for sharing your talent to us. :-)
  • Jon
    No problem Ken :).
Were you able to get the theme to install?
  • Ken
I still can't install the 7 icons set. I tried installing and uninstalling many times. I also tried to install in on my phone memory and memory card but I still can't see it on the theme selection. Aviator installed just fine and I can see it immediately. I'm using 5800 and 7 icons set goes best with the wallpaper but I guess I'm stuck with Shi for the moment. =D
  • Jon
That is ridiculously strange. I have no idea what to do/say..
I've compiled the theme twice already, and it works perfectly on my 5800.

Maybe I need to compile it a third time..
  • Ken
Strange it is because this is the first time I have since I started installing your themes. I have a red 5800, v 30.0.011 and an APAC 1 product code. I'll wait for your next compilation and install this theme. If it fails, I'll install it after a hard reset but not this time. Maybe I'll do it before installing Evo. =D
  • Daniel5800
Seven Icon version. The theme installs it does not appear when selecting the theme. please is how to fix? The default icons are OK.
  • Ken
I've got the same problem. =l
  • Jon
    @Daniel & Ken
Where are you guys installing the theme file?

I uninstalled it from my 5800. I reinstalled the SP theme no problem, and it shows up in my theme menu just fine.

I installed it on my Phone's memory. (I would recommend installing there)
  • manolitoman
    Hello,
Same problem here in a 5800 (v30.0.011). Only the theme with default icons is shown for select.
  • jj
    Yep exactly the same problem.
  • Flo
    Beautiful theme!

I already bought the "Fissure"-Theme and love it, but I like some change now and then. Will try that one out for some days.

    Thanks for your effort!
  • Jon
    Thank you!
Its always nice to change themes :). It keeps the interface looking fresh and new, heh.
  • You are the best theme maker for s60!!!
  • Jon
    Thank you very much :)
  • JHuling
Glad to see a theme release after all the hullaballoo. :) You always do great work and I appreciate it.
  • Jon
    Thanks JHuling :D.
    Your support means a lot!
  • nick_12987
wow nice again and again tehk..truly simply amazing..and about that shi copied dont get distract by them their only your apprentice wants to follow your foot..lol..thanks for this tehk ;-)
  • Jon
    Thanks Nick :).
Yea, I'm not bothered by the Shi copy. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.
Because.. most of the Nokia World knows of my icon and my style. So any imitations can be spotted almost immediately ;).

But.. whether or not people care depends on the users themselves, heh.
  • johnj
This one's a keeper. The color combination is good enough for me to leave my favorite color red for a while. Installed fine by cable to my N82.
  • Jon
    Thanks John :).
I noticed that this theme is very pleasing to look at. The colours are very relaxing, and are easy on the eyes.

And thanks for letting me know about the N82 installation.
  • Tehk as i already said to you in private THANKS AND THANKS.

Fantastic and Superb theme...I'm very glad that you have accepted to do the theme for us.

You are the simply best, no other words to say :D

    Thanks Friend ;)
  • Jon
    No problem Dockside!
It was an honour that you guys chose me to create the Symbian Planet theme :). Sorry it took so long.

    Thanks again my friend :D
  • Kulufuni
Hey there Tehk, I guess I will be the fourth to report the same problem as the others mentioned, when I try installing it, the message with update error appears...
  • Jon
    Hey Kulu,
Thanks for letting me know. The theme has been repackaged. Try to install it again :)
  • Daniel5800
Oh tehk, but I got a problem with s60v5 version when installing "update error" msg is appear!!, may be you should to Repackage theme again. Nokia 5800 Update erro menssage! Please correct!
  • Jon
    Try it now.
  • PT
    Great work :D
  • Jon
    Thanks PT :)
  • mh
    soo cool man 10x
  • Strafe
Fabulous theme, nice fresh colors, usable as always, and the clock thing is very ingenious. It makes me to use analog clock instead of digital one.
Who doesn`t want SymbianPlanet clock logo can switch to digital clock, but in that way he will lose not gain.
    Great job.
  • Jon
    Hey Strafe,
Thank you very much for your kind words :D.
And I agree with that.. You can always switch the clocks.. So I don't understand some of the comments I receive.
  • Oh tehk,
Nice theme dear, and amazing clock with SP logo, but I got a problem with Fp1 version when installing "update error" msg is appear!!, may be you should to Repackage theme again.
    Regards ;)
  • Jon
    Hey Ahmed,
Uh oh.. It works fine on my Nokia N95 8GB :(!
I repackaged my themes using Siscontent.
  • e71xnoob
I love the way the theme looks but I'm having the same problem as Ahmed "update error". I have an e71x.
  • Jon
You'll be the 3rd one to report that.
Do you think you can wait a little longer?
I would like to see more comments regarding whether or not this can install.
If not, I'll just repackage and reupload.

    Thanks :)
  • Casey
That is a beautiful theme! Actually, I love all of your themes that I've seen so far. Thank you for taking the time to make them :)
  • Jon
    Thank you :D.
And no problem, I am glad you like them!
  • Kulufuni
Hey man there you go again :) you did it once again in spite of all the "challenges" you are facing. And here you deliver us another one of your splendid creations. I just wanna say keep it up and THANK YOU for all the themes you made so far.
  • Jon
Heh, there were some challenges, but I guess they weren't too big of a deal.
And it is my pleasure :).
    Please enjoy the theme!
