Nokia Denies Rumours About Using Android OS in Future Models

A few days ago, Nokia was rumored to be preparing a new touchscreen device based on the Android OS for Nokia World in September. Nokia strongly denied these rumours and a statement from the Mobile giant states:

“There is no truth to this story whatsoever.” “It is a well known fact that Symbian is our platform of choice for smartphones.”

I was quite surprised when I heard the news about Nokia venturing to Android. Although Android is still relatively young, I feel like the user interface of Android OS is far superior to the lackluster S60 5th Edition platform. S60 is and has always been very a solid interface. Many mobile fans usually turn back to their trusty Nokia’s after the thrill of the iPhone or Gphone has worn out. However, either Symbian or Nokia has to improve their touch technology if they want to catch up with future Android, Web OS, or the iPhone OS devices.
