Wednesday – Passive Beta Testing
After Nokia’s Carbide theming program was successfully restored, I began working overtime to catch up on overdue projects. The first Nokia theme to be updated was the Prestige Solace theme. Not only was this theme first on the To Do List, but I needed to distribute a test theme to see if Carbide still had rendering or packaging issues. Thankfully, there were no bug complaints on the Prestige Solace re-release. This quickly prompted me to continue development on my second premium theme, “Shi”.
Today, I have sent out approximately 12-15 Shi Beta copies to a series of trusted webmasters including Ricky of Symbian Guru, Steve Litchfield of All About Symbian, Mike of E71 Fanatics, and Jorge of Nokia Mobile Talk – just to name a few. The theme package included 3 files:
- Shi for FP1 and FP2 devices with 7 icons
- Shi for E Series devices with 7 icons
- Shi for 5th Edition devices with 7 icons
The feedback of these individuals is essential for me to fix errors and tweak theme elements.

Thursday – Active Beta Testing
I plan on using the feedback from the Nokia webmasters to perfect the theme file. Throughout the day, I will take advantage of all the Nokia devices I have to my disposal. This includes the
- Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
- Nokia N95 8GB
- Nokia E71
- Nokia N73
In addition to testing the Shi theme on my personal devices, I plan on utilizing Nokia’s Remote Device Access service to test the theme on whatever devices I can utilize. My main priorities concern the Nokia N97, Nokia E75, and Nokia N79/N85.
Friday – Release Day
If all goes according to plan, the Shi theme will be available on my website to be purchased and downloaded at 7:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time. Like Fissure, Shi will be available in the following packages:
