S60 5th Edition will be the next generation platform. No doubt that it is the OS of choice for various highly anticipated mobile devices such as the high depth Samsung Omnia HD, the 12.1 MP Sony Satio (Iduo), and of course the dual sliding Nokia N97. I had promised several times that I would attempt to make my themes with full Symbian S60 5th edition support. However, this task was inevitably delayed due to my focus on icon making, bug fixing, and web developing. Since most of these projects are complete, I am able to take 5th edition theme development more seriously – much more seriously.
I am already on the lookout for a Nokia 5800, which I hope to purchase locally. This would allow me to experience 5th edition in all of its interactive touch-filled glory. I would then be able to grasp the concepts of what components need to be themed and how the components need to be themed. Hopefully iin the near future, I can satisfy the theme palettes of those 5800 owners, and soon to be N97 owners.
