After the recent release of the Prestige Solace theme for S60 3rd edition, I have been utilizing the downtime to work on Symbian 5th edition theme development. The most difficult aspect of 5th edition would be working with the various 9-piece SVG elements. These files are used in almost everything 5th edition: from the bottom navigation tabs to the individual keys in the keyboard. 5th edition has almost double the amount of themable elements compared to standard 3rd edition – not to mention an additional 50 sub-menu icons. I have finished the general base elements of the theme. I am sure I will be able to release my first full 5th edition supported theme within a few weeks time.
