TGIF Themes: Week #3 – Nokia Mobile Talk by Dhanusaud

Welcome to another edition of TGIF Themes. Last week I featured the “iLight” theme created by Dsma. With more and more themers emerging everyday, it becomes increasingly difficult to filter through the latest themes to find something special. After installing and testing over a handful of themes, I found that Dhanusaud’s “Nokia Mobile Talk” theme was in a whole other league. I know I have already featured Dhanu’s work in my very first edition of TGIF Themes, but his recently released “NMT” theme is as close to perfect as Carbide allows.

This theme is a collaborative design between the veteran themer Dhanusaud, with one of my favourite Nokia websites, Nokia Mobile Talk. The theme features a very unique, well-made, vectorized microphone which blends beautifully with the background. The microphone is a signature icon for Nokia Mobile Talk, as the webmaster Jorge posts weekly Podcasts and audio interviews.

The colours for this theme are a consistent dark gray, blue, and black. Dhanu has creatively combined these colours with various Nokia elements to give the theme a “futuristic” look.

Dhanu’s NMT keyboard has got to be my favourite aspect of the theme. The keyboard emphasizes the “futuristic” effect, with its glossy blackened keys and neon blue text area. I believe the main issue found with most themes on the Nokia 5800 is the lack of a graphical keyboard. Unfortunately, this was the main reason why many themes that I have tested failed to make it into this week’s TGIF themes feauture. Not only is Dhanu’s NMT keyboard graphically complete, but it is also stunning and a joy to use.

The same elegance and design can be seen on all the keyboard options found on the Nokia 5800.

So if you want an elegant and simple dark gray theme with striking blue highlights, then please try Dhanusaud’s Nokia Mobile Talk theme.

*Note*
I currently only have a Nokia 5800. Therefore, I am unable to physically test non-S60 5th Edition themes. I understand that this will severely limit the variety of themes that I am able to test, approve, and feature for TGIF themes.

For those who wish to have their work featured on TGIF themes, please email me at contact@tehkseven.net. Include your theme file (S60 5th Edition supported themes only), along with your website/blog/deviantArt page and donation link, if you have one. I will personally test and review your themes, as well as provide some quick feedback if requested. However, I cannot guarantee that your theme will be featured on TGIF themes.
