Welcome to ROUND 5 of MMC's mini theme competitions!

Congratulations to DustyJaneway for her victory in Round 3: Watchmen!
Round 4 closes soon, and I say we get on with the business of getting on with business!

For this round, I thought it would be fun to do some popular culture. Popular culture that's so popular it's recognized around the world. I'm sure some of us will not be fan's outright of this assignment, but think of it as you would a theme request for whatever handset you prefer. I'd would be lying if I said we weren't a bit inspired by Miss Janeway, herself, and recent conversation around MMC. I believe this assignment will definitely turn up the heat in this forum!

As a reminder, we have a Theme Competition Topic Ideas thread where you can post your ideas for future competitions. With badges now being awarded, we ask that you use the linked thread for suggestions, and refrain from announcing contests. We would like to keep it pretty streamlined in this forum, so that members know what they've entered, and that they will be getting awards for their contributions. All of your suggestions will be gotten around to I'm sure. There are lots of contests planned for MMC!

With that, Round 5!

Who can enter?

Everyone! Even previous winners are contenders for this round's bragging rights.
Once again the winner will receive a nice graphic for their signature, proclaiming their victory!
Blog features and theme reviews are sure to follow!
All participants will receive a Challenger Badge for their awards showcase!

How to enter?

Just complete a theme in accordance with the assignment and upload it to MMC. Then provide a link to your entry in this thread.
If you don't post the link then I won't know you've entered! Communication, as always, is key.

You can post a response to this announcement to let us know you're in, but it's not necessary.
As long as your theme link is posted here when times up.

When all entries are received I will again post screenshots and instructions on the vote.

The time line to enter will be roughly 2 weeks.
When interest wanes I will make a last call, and remain open until we a certain there is no new interest in the round.
If anyone is needing an extra day at that point to finish up their theme just post here. We're reasonable folks.
Fun, that's what theming is all about, right? Right.

We do ask that all entries be original themes created for THIS competition.
All entries should be posted ONLY to MMC until after a winner is announced. Thanks!

Okay crew, set your phasers to 'stun' and wow us! You can theme ANYTHING Star Trek you wish!

Of course we would like to see images from the new movie, but there are millions of people who appreciate all things Star Trek. So we trust that you know just the character(s) you want to create for. More important that you submit the best quality you can achieve. This will be looked at over character choice by most judges. If you are unfamiliar with any of the Star Trek series, and unsure of how to proceed, let us know. I myself am not a Trekkie. I have seen the trailers for the upcoming movie and must admit, it does look amazing! So, as always, if you are having trouble finding high quality Star Trek images there are plenty of us willing to help.

Please select quality images that feature your favorite Star Trek character, ship, world, emblem...
Anything Star Trek.
Any Star Trek character.
Any Star Trek series.

It's a Trekkie free-for-all!

Please use a proper upload title, so people can easily find your entry in the future.
Example: Star Trek: Spock: Nimoy -or- Star Trek: Spock: Quinto -or- Star Trek: USS Enterprise

Enter as many times as you like, but remember you must select the entry you wish to go up for judging. Strive to create a complete and functional theme for any handset you wish to theme for. You can even change handsets per theme if you like. As usual, we really want you to just have a lot of fun with this and all assignments!

Once you choose a character a image google of that characters name + wallpaper should get you some great images to use in your themes! Have fun!

Wow !! I m excited about this...I have never done a techie kinda theme but i m sure i want to test myself with star treck...how much i can imagine and what i can do with it..Sure it's gonna be fun..NIce topic Tricks..Happy to be a part of it!! :lolabove: :teehee:

Oh wow this is going to be GREAT! I sincerely cannot WAIT to see all of the Star Trek themes that will pop up in here!

The Star Trek universe is so vast, with several series, films and tons of characters to choose from, so it's really exciting to see what themes everyone will choose to do.

Im not sure if I will be able to enter this comp,
Im gonna be quite busy till the end of May but I'll try my
best to enter when I'll have some time .
If I enter it probably will be a S60 3rd theme because Im
starting to make themes for N95 8GB.

Perhaps you should post this in the How Are You Feeling thread, or approach someone you are comfortable talking to about whatever is bothering you. This is kind of off topic for the competition forum.

I hope you get things sorted out and start feeling better. Perhaps you will find time to join us before round 5 closes.

Cool Mavi! But you didn't sound like you enjoyed this topic at all.

If you are one who will do more than one theme, perhaps try keywords 'star trek characters' and you will find some images you like better. It's an immensely popular series and the content is out there.

If you find a wallpaper but don't know the character, just send a note with the pic to me or an obvious Trekkie and we will give you the info you need to give your theme a proper title. There is SO much content for this contest I really don't see any one contestant submitting something that is too close to anyone else's entry. I know you like to keep your themes private until you upload, but help is here if you'll accept it. :yes:

If you know of a character you would like to use, but cannot get an image, again let us know.
We'll be glad to help you find what you need to really enjoy the contest.

@ Mavi: I don't think you've let anyone down. I think your theme looks very nice - I love the wallpaper that you have used. Hopefully with Tricksy's info, you can learn a little about the Trek universe and will then enjoy making a second theme?

I've started working on a theme for this comp. It's no where near finished yet though and I'm not too 'happy' with it. It requires a lot of tweaking!
