Disclaimer

I am no pro in Photoshop or Illustrator and
all that I am sharing now are the results of reading hundreds of
tutorials (thanks to all that created them).
I decided that instead of linking members to other sites that we should have our own here.
Before starting, I am making a request to the skilled MMC members to share their tutorials here too and check the How To Make Elements For Themes And Not Only topic for the complete list of tutorials posted at MMC

Few days ago RobJM posted the giveaway of the day a 3D text creator
Becaus of the limited time that was given (24hours) for the software to be downloaded some of our members including TricksyPicksy were very upset because they didn't had the chance
And here comes todays tutorial
i will try to show in a few simple steps How to make a 3d text in photoshop

Step 1

Open a new document, size it's not important because it depends on the length of the text and the size of the font
Type your text in

Next go to layers palette and right click on the text layer and chose convert to shape
I always try to chose the nondestructive methods because if i don't like something i can always go back and make changes
This being done go to Edit >Transform >Perspective
At this step you are free to play with your imagination to add some perspective
Just remember that closer means bigger

Step 2

Duplicate this layer and put it on top of the first one, double click on it and Change its color ,i chosed to fill it with a gradient myself

Now please pay attention to this part as it is very important
Chose the original layer and press Alt+Ctrl+ Left key Once
you will notice that it added a new copy of the layer that is moved slightly, one pixel infact to the left

Posted Image

By pressing Alt+Ctrl+Shift +T several times you will see several layers will be added following the same direction of the previous
keep doing it untill you feel comfortable with it
i will stop at this size

And that's all
Of course there are unlimited possibilities of going further after this
