Infact you can convert png to svg but with no good results
the result file will not have the same properties with a genuine svg file

2.select the image by clicking on it..
3.goto►Effects►images►embed all images..

it won't be valid SVG. Valid SVG has clear cut vector paths.
whereas converted doesn't.

raster to svg is possible but as Danut said it wont to genuine SVG, & may have some problems like non scalable. :whistling:

I agree with you bro..non scalable..will result in bad resolution when the screen orientation changes..
but this might be useful when pngs are not allowed in some vector works..

the method you told only inserts image to svg document so image not svg.
if results are worst then no use of that svg we have made.

friend better is that to use online converter like vectormagic which give better results than Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape, unfortunately this online converter has limitations.

You guys might try Aviary Tools. You have to register for an account, but it's a free suite of image editing tools you can use online. Store your images in your profile or export them to your pc. They have a vector editor there, Raven. Give it a try, it's a really neat website chock full of all kinds of things a mobile themer can make great use of.

They have lots of tutorials too to get you started. I don't know if Raven will serve your purpose. Maybe not. But then again it just might be the answer so to many themers svg prayers!
